Midnight

by Damini Bhatla, Kittu Vissapragada & Niteesh

Throughout the pandemic, we were all discovering what matters to us the most.
To me, it was love which was kind and passionate. 'Midnight' was written after
finding the most compassionate person I have ever met. We were deep into
sharing things which made us feel vulnerable. We would find our souls while
making love. We were true to ourselves. This song just explains it all in Telugu, my
mother tongue. It's a good blend of romantic lyrics, juicy vocals, e-guitars, synth
chords and beats.

Raathire

by Damini Bhatla, Kittu Vissapragada & Navneeth Krishnan

Twilight / రాతిరే starts with a loop of 4

chords and slowly transforms to avant-
garde jazz arrangement. The singing is

not set to the tempo thus making it fluid
and abstract. The lyrics are about
intimacy during the dawn when the
colors are red, blue and purple. And in
the video, you see the woman in the
exact colours. The trimmed video is set
in 1980's in South India. The Saree,
Frankincense, Jasmine Flowers, Veena
and all the aesthetic elements are played
in contrast with the audio. The track is a
blend of romantic lyrics with extreme
dynamic singing and harmonies.

Love Wasn't Enough

by Damini Bhatla & Freddie

Damini Bhatla’s ‘Love Wasn't Enough’ is about unrequited love and broken promises. The words are deeply heart-wrenching but the music is set in pop genre.
In the song, she expresses her feelings of being deeply in love with someone who didn't feel the same way about her. She sings about how she tried to make the relationship work but ultimately realized that her love wasn't enough to make it last.

Premalekha

by Damini Bhatla, Krishna Tejaswi, Sri Harsha Emani

If I need to sum up the song’s emotion, it is ‘Unspoken Longing’. This song is a hauntingly beautiful one that captures the bittersweet essence of two hearts entangled in a silent dance of love and longing. They share an unspoken connection, a love that burns brightly within but remains imprisoned by their inability to express it. The melody is soft and melancholic, with gentle ambient synth chords that mirror the fragility of the emotions and singers showcasing their vocal prowess.

Chinna Maata

by Damini Bhatla, Yanchan Produced, Swaroop Goli featuring Matt Gudgeon

Chinna Maata is a soulful Telugu indie track that blends poetic lyricism with modern R&B, Guitars and Indian Percussions textures. Through metaphors of trees teaching birds how to fly, soil yielding crop and weed, etc. The song reflects on perception, choice, and human connection. This is Damini Bhatla's ethos as a human. With layered harmonies sung by her friends and Damini’s emotive vocals, it bridges Indian indie roots with pop accessibility. It is introspective yet universally relatable.

hello master! artwork.jpg

hello master!

telugu jazz!!

Often people desire to find someone at mundane places like a bus stop, book store, coffee shop etc. Hello Master by Damini Bhatla is a fun song where she narrates her story about all the guys who were coy and never started anything. They linger around like shadows as their courage falters like a wave. All it takes is that one nice move. The song is written in Coloquil Telugu and English. The music is rich with emotions, conveying a deep sense of anticipation and drama. The usage of orchestral strings, classical guitars, jazzy brush techniques makes people swing, tap their feet and waltz onto the dance floor. Damini's voice, delicate yet powerful, weaves through the arrangements, creating a unique sound that captivates the listener. She was highly inspired by the songs of the Grammy Awardee, Laufey while writing this song. The first verse is all about the courage and connection. The second verse talks about the differences in the couple's likes and choices. Her favourite line from the song is 'I love ARR, Raja has your heart. SPB gonthai ee rendu dhaarulokkataiyyene', translating to how they like different music composers but the vocalist who doimnated the south indian music 'SP Balasubramanyam or SPB' is the middle ground for both of them. The song ends on a high and hopeful note. The songwriters Damini and Srirag has mindfully made this song Gender Neutral thus making it more relevant and sharable to everyone.
